I am in my 14th year as an elementary educator and hold a Master’s in the Arts of Education in the areas of Reading and Writing K-12. I was certified through the IMSE Orton Gillingham program as a structured reading tutor after successful completion of a 9 month practicum process.

How Can I Help?

My experience and certifications mean I am qualified to deliver a multisensory approach to reading that allows many struggling students to find success. This is an approach that encompasses and embraces 5 decades of research on the science of reading. IMSE Orton Gillingham is best known for helping dyslexic students find success in reading, but this structured reading approach is effective for nearly all students. This approach not only includes the 5 components of structured literacy; phonological awareness, phonics, vocabulary, fluency, and comprehension, but also spelling and writing. As a tutor, I will administer assessments to establish your child’s specific reading and writing needs. Once assessed, I will develop lessons that deliver instruction based on those needs, while continually monitoring growth.

Fee: $50/hour of Individualized Structured Instruction
